Notch Changes

The Pro models in this years lineup are expected to remove the notch, and instead opting for a pill shaped cutout for the front facing camera & Face ID sensors. This change is only expected to be included on the Pro models and likely won't extend to the rest of the lineup this year. There have been differing reports about the size of the pill cutout, so we will have to wait to see how big the cutout is.

Satellite Connectivity

Recent rumors indicate that the new iPhone 14 Pro lineup might include satellite communication support. This would be groundbreaking for areas that do not have cell reception such as forests, wilderness, international oceans, and more. Additionally, for search and rescue operations, as well as for first responders this would allow for much better communications. It is anticipated that this feature will only work for emergency communications, meaning you won't be able to use satellite service for day to day usage. However we will have to wait and see what Apple has in store for us.

Battery

It has also been reported that the new devices will feature battery improvements such as faster charging, and longer battery life. 30W wired fast charging support is reportedly coming to the lineup, which will allow you to charge your iPhone faster when using a compatible charger.

MagSafe is also expected to see some improvements with stronger magnets, and a new battery accessory. Apple currently sells the MagSafe Battery Pack for $99 USD. The company has expressed their support of wireless charging technology many times in the past, and has made improvements to the technology overtime. It will be interesting to see what improvements MagSafe will bring this generation.
